Peppermint Willow

Size:

Height: 25-30'; Spread: 15-30'

Character:

Evergreen; spreading, weeping form; dense canopy

Foliage:

Gray-green, willow-like, narrow leaves, 4-6" long.

Flower:

Small white flowers in clusters, bloom May-June. 

Fruit:

Relatively inconspicuous

Bark:

Rough, dark brown bark. Deeply furrowed.

Tree Care:

High. Hard to establish central leader. Need to prune frequently, especially in early years to relieve weight. Prune out narrow attachments and crossing branches.

Special Considerations:

Wind can misshape tree.

Native Range & Notable Traits:

Native to Australia. Older trees develop beautiful weeping form. Disease and pest resistant. Crushed leaves smell like peppermint.
