Tree Tour with Mike Sullivan

We'll begin our walk on the gentle inclines of the Historic Trail in the Sutro Forest, exiting on Edgewood Avenue. From there we'll visit some of the great street trees of Parnassus Heights and Cole Valley, including a yellow-blooming New Zealand Christmas Tree (Metrosideros excelsa ‘Aurea’) -- the favorite tree of tour leader Mike Sullivan, author of Trees of San Francisco. Mike will share insights and history about the trees, and we guarantee you'll finish with a deeper appreciation for our urban forest. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and bring water (to stay hydrated) and sun protection.
